Habitat in the Wild

This plant was collected from Rimbo Pengadang within the Bengkulu Mountains of the Barisan Range

The Plants Description

The pseudobulbs are placed close together on a short rhizome. The pseudobulbs are shaped ellipsoid, 1.6-2.5cm long and c1cm in diameter. The leaf blades are shaped lanceolate and have obtuse to minutely apiculate apices. The leaf blades narrow abruptly 1cm from their apices. The leaf blades measure 5.75-8cm long and 1-1.8cm wide.

The Inflorescence

The inflorescence is synanthous and emerges at the same time as the leaves. The peduncle is pale green and measures 5.5-8cm long. The rachis measures 6cm long and is quadrangular in cross-section. The flowers are spaced 2.75mm apart.

The Flowers

The flowers are pale green. The sepals and petals incurve. The dorsal sepal is shaped oblong and has an acute apex. The dorsal sepal measures 4.3mm long and 2mm wide. The lateral sepals are shaped obliquely-oblong and measure the same as the dorsal sepal. The petals are shaped oblong-elliptic and have acute apices. The petals measure 3.75mm long and 1.7mm wide. The labellum is 3-lobed; the side lobes are shaped triangular and have long apices. The mid-lobe is almost quadrangular and has a truncate apex. The base of the mid-lobe is narrowed. The margins of the labellum are erose. There are two keels on the hypochile that terminate on the mid-lobe. There is a very small and less visible keel between them. The column is curved and measures 2.3mm long. The apical hood is 3-lobed, the lateral lobes are small and rounded, and the mid-lobe is taller and triangular. The stelidia grow from the just below the middle of the column and do not reach the column apex.
